The Valencian Community is home to a large number of natural sites that are unknown to the vast majority of visitors. Although our land is often known for its gastronomy and beaches, there are corners inland, such as natural pools and mountain ranges, as well as on the coast, where one can find heavenly coves in which to spend the day.
As there are so many options that one can find if one wants to get to know the nature and the places that populate the Valencian Community, from Flight Mode we present some of the most recommendable natural plans that we can find both to the north and the south of the city of Valencia.
The natural pools can be an alternative this summer for all those who like nature and want to be able to refresh themselves in its crystalline waters without looking for the large crowds that can occur on the beaches, something very important after the pandemic of COVID-19 suffered.
Therefore, if you want to spend a few days in the area and get to know the nature that is hidden in the province of Castellón, from Flight Mode we want you to know some of the most worthwhile places in the area:
Los Baños Fountain
In the interior of the province of Castellón, at more than 400 meters above sea level, we can find the municipality of Montanejos, a beautiful village where we will find a multitude of things to do.
If you are looking to relax and spend a day of total peace in this beautiful place, we recommend you to visit its Spa, which is unfortunately closed at the moment due to the preventive measures by the COVID-19.
However, the real attraction of this municipality is not this one although it has a lot to do with water. Among its hiking routes and nearby rivers is ‘La Fuente de Los Baños’.
This spot is born from the river Mijares, whose physiography has allowed the formation of natural pools that are an excellent bathing area, which is now equipped with a picnic area and games where you can enjoy all day with family and friends.
It should be noted that the entrance to this place has a cost of between 3 and 5 euros depending on the day of the week and the age of each person that is devoted to the conservation of the site itself.
Irta mountain range
If you decide to travel through the province of Castellón and visit Morella, you cannot miss one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Valencian geography, the Sierra de Irta. This mountainous formation is a practically paradisiacal place with practically no houses where the cliffs reach the sea.
It is undoubtedly one of the best options for those who wish to combine hiking with a day at the beach as here you will find some of the most beautiful and unknown coves and beaches with crystalline waters of the entire Valencian coast such as Cala Alcossebre or Argilaga.
The beaches of the Sierra Irta are an ecological treasure and an oasis of nature thanks to the protection of the Natural Park and Marine Reserve. In Irta, we find sea and mountains, watchtowers, Templar castles, and even an ecological campsite where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Various routes can be taken in the area, from the most mountainous to the coastal ones, including hermitages or the castle of Alcalà de Xivert. Also, they have different levels of difficulty to satisfy both the most expert and children.
La Tinença de Benifassà
The Tinença de Benifassà Natural Park extends between the regions of Els Ports and El Baix Maestrat in Castellón. With a landscape that is difficult to forget, it has a diversity of fauna and flora that allows you to enjoy nature to the full.
A network of signposted footpaths links the seven villages of La Tinença in hiking trails that allow you to discover this extraordinarily preserved spot.
It is the right opportunity to do sport and enjoy away from the city since there you will find up to 7 signposted paths to choose from: Bel, El Ballestar, Boixar, Castell de Cabres, Coratxà, Fredes, and La Pobla de Benifassà.
It is, without a doubt, the perfect escape for true lovers of the fauna and flora in the Valencian Community, although the province of Castellón has other impressive natural spots worth visiting, such as the Desert de Les Palmes, in Benicassim, Sierra de Espadán or the Columbretes Islands.
For all this, and if you want your trip to be as complete as possible without sacrificing quality and without complications, on our website you can find everything related to experiences with kayaking, canyoning or paddle surfing as well as we have professional hiking and climbing that will guide your way and make all your vacation a pleasant walk.
